* 1960 in Sindelfingen/Baden-Württemberg,

lives and works as a freelanced dancer / choreographer in Berlin Anna Barth moves as a borderliner between the influence of western and eastern contemporary dance art. With the background of a Modern Dance education at the Alwin Nikolais & Murray Louis Dance Lab in New York she became student to the co-founder and master of Butoh Dance Kazuo Ohno and his son Yoshito Ohno in Japan. Since the beginning of the 90s she has commited herself to the development of an own dance- and body-lenguage that questions and reflects upon the existential condition and thriving forces of the human experience and consciousness.The memory of the body constitutes an essential core of her work, around which her creations evolve. Barth works as a soloist as well as in different constellations, her experimental projects with international artists from different art-fields have been realized through a variety of venues in New York, Japan and Europe. For her creative work in New York she has received the “Pro-Art-Foundation Prize”. Besides appearing at theaters, she exposes the body to unexpected urban and rural environments. Her improvisations are an approach to establish an awareness of connection and affinity between body, nature, landscape and architecture. In 2004 she founded the Berlin based DanceArt Laboratory. She teaches in and outside of Germany.

2006

GGG (GOD GOLD GLAMO(U)ROUS), performance including impromptu live music

Disbands the team to persue oneself and starts to work on one‘s own: 2008

Pure White Planet, a serial performance continued for a year in a Japanese folk house in Yanaka, Taito Ward, Tokyo.

2009

Meets Kazuo Ohno and Yoshito Ohno, friends of Yukio Nakagawa, through Anna Barth. Fascinated by Butoh. satiralC22Claritas, performance including poems and pictures2

Willing to realize collaboration of Kadoh and opera3 in 2010. *1: Kadoh is still ruled in hereditary system and apprentices are like corporate member. Yukio Nakagawa stepped out of this constrained world and worked on his own. In his age, there were so much to overcome, such as hindrance of the Kadoh world. *2: Will be published. *3* Song, music, Butoh, dance, etc, I am interested in presenting arts which comes from the human body in a live way.

Art & Breakfast starts from eating breakfast together with visitors. Ordinary objects in the space are transformed into new art works, based on images or memories stacked in her journeys, and numbers of small installations fill up the space. His performances are known world-wide; as „bread-man“, „boxing performance“ or with „punishment“, the japanese multimedia avangardist TATSUMI ORIMOTO provokes emotion and alertness among his audiences. His environments, often realized with the participation of larger groups have been presented at various venues like galleries, museeums and artfestivals all over the world. His photo-series, especilally his ART-Mama have an ideosyncracy and density reminiscent of icons of contemporary art. An integral part of Tatsumi Orimotos involvement as an artist is to support and connect young japanese artists as well as artists from other parts of the world. Friendship, communication and long term collaborations with his

Explosion 2007, Collage, 66 x 30 cm

About the paperworks of Stefan Rueff Similar to Walter Benjamin, who described the diorama as “a aquarium of distance and past“, Stefan Rueff upgrades the quality of the collage in his paperworks by working with different layers. He accentuates his translucent layers by showing the process of layering. Through the layers of diaphanous papers the different themes and subjects are still visible – more or less. The provenience of his motifs is the public pool of images, pictures, icons etc. Stefan Rueff is engaged in the appropriation over a long period. The selection of motives is a process which is influenced by his subconsciousness. He is interested in their intellectual, spiritual and the emotional energy. The combination of diverse, heterogeneous motives neutralizes their primary sense and provokes a new context, a new relationship and the observer is asked to (re-)construct his own story. TADAYUKI SHIMADA COMMENT 2009/ 9 My work might look the armor of the dog but I’ve never made the armor. I formed a board of aluminum by forging technique. I intentionally didn’t close the board, so you’ll find an empty space inside the board. The innumerable ripples made by forging provide us a strong sense of existence. The point of focus in my work was to have fused a sense of emptiness and a sense of existence together. The viewers are supposed to fill the empty space with their own imagination. My work is a device to cover the shadow of the life that exists there. In other works, I make sculptures in which a viewer can feel that invisible things are existence.

Ulrike Solbrig (*1966 in Mainz ) is a visual artist and curator living in Berlin. In her work she maintains a critical perspective on the representation and organization of modern life and nature. With the video, Albertine at the Police Doctor‘s, she confronts her audience with art history, probing gender inequalities through the mirror of patriarchal omissions (sexwork. Kunst Mythos Realität, NGBK). With Getting Involved and Other Quirky Behavior, Solbrig together with the Danish artist Kirsten Dufour and the Norwegian curator Hilde Methi (as Kirkenes Mobile Kultur Byrå), delves into community engagement by looking into the working conditions of visiting Russian market women in Norway (pöpp68 privat, persönlich, öffentlich, politisch, NGBK). Since 2003, she is actively participating in the development of community gardens as part of her artistic work – resulting in establishing a community garden in Kreuzberg or the conference and exhibiton socialmentalenvironmental at Sparwasser HQ 2007. Solbrig is a co-founder of the interdisciplinary UNWETTER collective, which started its non-academic knowledge production at Dokumenta11. They connect with their continued practice of Discursive Picnics, institutional and non-institutional spaces like Liverpool Biennial, Berlin-Alexanderplatz, Museum of Contemporary Art Sydney, Palanga Beach, all over the world. Discursive Picnics are open invitations for anybody to become a guest or a host, to carry out and share and exchange their food, theory or practice, in public.

Albertine at the Police Doctor‘s (240 min video). Literally focusing on the painting by Christian Krogh at the National Gallery in Oslo, over the period of an entire museum’s day, the production itself takes on a performative dimension, as the visitors rushing to Edvard Munch‘s paintings, irritated by the video shoot, have their gaze redirected to the focal point of the camera.

Discursive Picnic_Thai Massage, 12 July 2009, 2 pm at Görlitzer Park

While the original version of the well known Teltane poem, Herr von Ribbeck auf Ribbeck im Havelland, has it that Ribbeck‘s plan was, to have a pear placed in his grave – the version Ribbeck’s granddaughter, speaks of a lucky accident that leads to the eventual growing of a pear tree from his grave: Burying him, they forgot to empty his pockets of the pears, he used to share with the children of the village. (Written on the window of Sparwasser HQ)

Getting Involved and Other Quirky Behavior, 1st of May Breakfast with the Russian Market women at the Russian Seamen’s Club, Kirkenes with a 28 min. video-copilation of interviews about the working conditions at the Russian Market Kirkenes. (Kirkenes Mobile Kultur Byrå)
