ADVANTAGES AND BENEFITS

Technical assistance; More than 60 years of experience in insulating gloves production; 100% tested products;

Certified Company

Traceability (serial number); Individual opinions delivered with each product.

This Insulation Device Catalogue’s purpose is to inform on the specifications of Orion’s entire line of Insulation Devices, as well as to clarify common doubts such as care when using the product, storage, guaranty, testing and retesting, among others, in order to contribute to indicate, acquire and provide the most adequate Personal (PPEs) or Collective (CPEs) Protection Equipment.

CARE WHEN USING THE PRODUCT Care and the adequate use of these products are essential for the user’s safety. The equipment should be visually inspected whenever they are utilized. In the case of PPE, the inspection should include the internal part and the external surface, a careful cleaning of the part being also recommended. The use of rings, watches, jewels, sharp and/or cutting objects when using rubber insulating products is forbidden. Chemical compounds, especially those based on petroleum, such as oil, gasoline, hydraulic fluid, inhibitors, creams, pastes and ointments, may damage rubber insulating products. In the case of contact, the contaminated area should be immediately washed with a cloth and neutral detergent. After being washed, the area should be thoroughly rinsed with water and air-dried. If any sign of physical damage or deterioration is found, the product’s use should be suspended and it should be forwarded for retesting. Insulation products are exclusively destined to electric use.

General Instructions TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE • • • • • •

Keep it in the original packaging when stored or during transportation; Do not fold, wrinkle, compress or stretch it; Keep it in a place free of ozone, chemicals, oils, solvents, harmful vapors, fumes and electric discharges; Keep it away from the direct action and from irradiation of any heat source; Keep it in a places at ambient temperature below 35° C. It is recommended that the products are stored in the original packaging when they are not being utilized.

RECOMMENDATIONS The period to replace insulation products should be less than 5 years; The product’s durability will depend on factors involving the type of activity, use frequency, user care, cleaning and storage. Its durability is also determined by the product’s periodical and mandatory approval in electric essays, according to Regulatory Norm - NR 10.

ELECTRIC AND PHYSICAL ESSAYS Raising the safety level of the Personal (PPEs) and Collective (CPEs) Protection Equipment is a highly important factor to preserve a worker’s physical integrity, especially when executing services with electricity, due to the great risk of accidents. Thus, protection equipment requires a high degree of reliability and safety, ORION S.A., being concerned with safety, tests all individual and collective protection equipment, by following the norms established for each product. Ge to know below the tests applied to the insulation products manufactured by ORION.

CLASSIFICATION

Picture for illustration purposes only.

ORION’S gloves provide greater durability, since they are of TYPE II: Resistant to Ozone (03); • Ozone is a gas naturally found in the atmosphere (as the active form of oxygen that may be produced by an electric discharge, corona effect or ultraviolet rays). Its presence leads to faster deterioration of the product. • As luvas TIPO I (não resistentes ao ozônio) estão em processo de liberação de C.A.

PROTECTION GLOVES Rubber insulating gloves should always be worn together with protection gloves, which may be:

IMPORTANT ORION has as its differential a high control over production, and that’s why it has developed a customized lower plate that is attached to the platform’s base, thus enabling a larger area of contact and greater efficiency in electric tests. That differential is Orion’s unique and exclusive feature.
