Setup • Each station 2 participants • Each of the participants would only rotate once • 3 hours • Video demonstration of how to do it, including “HOW TO TIE KNOTS” Requirements • Total of 5 towers • Same/similar model at each station • Standard box trainers for the suturing

Group 2 (Advanced neonatal Simulation-based Education) Intention: Designed for participants who have basic MIS skills and are prepared to begin more complex surgical procedures in the near future.

Setup • 2 participants maximum per faculty member

Description To practice MIS skills and learn new ones in established simulators for a variety of standardized pediatric surgical procedures. Simula­ tion-based instruction will include advanced surgical techniques. Participants of all levels of MIS skill are encouraged to attend the course.

Requirements • Total of 6 towers. • Innovation-simulator models:

Objectives At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to: • Choose appropriate instruments for neonatal laparoscopy and thoracoscopy. • Demonstrate improved instrument handling and knot tying skills within the confines of a newborn chest or abdomen. • Demonstrate and describe port placement for common neonatal procedures. Goals • High fidelity skills for MIS • Advanced complex procedures performed in a non-tissue simulation model • Advanced impact course, directed specifically to prepare implementation of a skill into practice
