Per valutare i lavori è stata invitata una giuria di professionisti composta da Harrie Smeets, responsabile clienti di Prostitch, Olanda, Massimo Baezzato, titolare di Constitch Stickdesigns in Germania e Gabriela Wiesmann di GiS Tech Solution, Germania. Concorso di ricamo Quest'anno i lavori erano suddivisi in tre categorie: A - Capi finiti: ricamo su un capo finito come abiti, camicie, pullover, berretti, ecc. B - Decorazione a parete: ricami destinati all'applicazione a parete (ricami da presentare già incorniciati) C - Filati speciali: Ricami su materiali realizzati con filati speciali (filati metallici, fluorescenti, di lana). Tutti sono stati valutati in base a quattro criteri stabiliti. Il primo era creatività e originalità - con giudizio sull'uso di materiali o tecniche di ricamo in modo originale, creativo. Il secondo era l'uso efficace del colore - un buon uso del colore per intensificare l'effetto del ricamo. La terza condizione era la nitidezza del ricamo - qualità ottenuta con punciatura e ricamo e considerando anche la presentazione del ricamo. La quarta condizione era l'abilità - la corretta applicazione di tecniche e la continuità di punciatura. La giuria non ha avuto un compito facile per l'elevato livello qualitativo dei lavori e i concetti dell'arte del ricamo presentati. Il Gran Premio, per il miglior ricamo di tutte le categorie, selezionato da giudici professionisti è stato vinto da Ergan Yaran, di Nakissan Ltd., S.T.I. in Turchia. L'idea del suo lavoro, un'immagine ricamata di Mevlana, filosofo e mistico dell'Islam era la rappresentazione della sua dottrina religiosa basata sulla tolleranza, il pensiero positivo, la carità e la consapevolezza attraverso l'amore. Per lui e per i suoi discepoli ogni religione contiene delle verità, sia musulmana, che ebraica o cristiana. I suoi insegnamenti si sono rivolti a persone di ogni setta e credo. "Come azienda vorremmo seguire le sue dottrine e condividere la sua opera le sue idee con altre aziende, senza limitazioni," ha detto Yaran che ha realizzato il ricamo in collaborazione con altri colleghi. Il lavoro di 25 cm × 35 cm è stato eseguito su una macchina Tajima a 4 teste e nove aghi per ottenere una qualità perfetta del punto. Per il ricamo sono stati impiegati 1523 metri di filati di Durak, Epiriler e Gunold Visco 30 e 40 in 25 colori diversi ed effetti per ottenere la consistenza. Per conferire un'espressione triste all'immagine è stato usato come sfondo un materiale scamosciato nero esaltando i vari colori impiegati sul viso e l'apertura della camicia. Questo ricamo si distingue per i vari particolari, colori ed effetti. Il disegno e la punciatura, che hanno richiesto trentanove ore di lavoro, sono stati eseguiti con il programma software per ricamo Punto 5.05 e l'intero lavoro consiste di 197.824 punti. Per il ricamo è stato impiegato un ago numero 70. Nakissan Ltd., Turchia riceverò la Grande Coppa del Concorso di Ricamo Eurostitch con inciso il nome, da conservare per un anno. Riceverà inoltre il Gran Premio dono di Wings Systems Ltd. ed Embrosol. Wings Systems Ltd. offre un pacchetto software Wings XP comprendente tecnologia CorelDRAW e OLE-2 che permette di utilizzare CorelDRAW praticamente all'interno di eXperience e convertire gli schemi CorelDRAW in ricamo di alta qualità. Insieme a questo premio Embrosol offre una giornata di formazione sul software Wings. Il Premio Speciale: Oltre al migliore lavoro selezionato da una giuria di esperti, vi è anche il Premio Speciale per il miglior lavoro scelto dal pubblico. Il premio speciale è gentilmente offerto da GiS Tech Solutions e consiste nel pacchetto software BasePac 21 Ace per gestione, amministrazione, e-mail, monogrammi con importazione TrueType e punciatura automatica. Il premio è stato vinto da Linda Verstappen, di Thermopatch Company, Olanda. Si tratta di un elegante cane il cui muso è ricamato su una borsa. L'idea le è venuta leggendo riviste dedicate ai cani e in particolare al suo cane. "Volevo realizzare una borsa da utilizzare per addestrare il cane e in cui tenere i giochi e il cibo per il cane", ha dichiarato la signora Verstappen che ha ricamato la borsa. Il disegno della borsa, eseguito in due parti: il muso sulla parte alta della borsa e il collo sull'altra parte, è stato fatto in modo da mostrare il cane che porta una rivista in bocca quando si apre la borsa. Il disegno è stato eseguito con il software per ricamo EPC Punch, ZSK e contiene circa 70.450 punti. È stata utilizzata una macchina ZSK mono-testa. Per il ricamo sono stati impiegati filati Isacord e Madeira. Tutto il lavoro, che ha

richiesto alcune ore, è stato eseguito dalla signora Verstappen che ama ricamare con punciatura animali e che in passato ha ricamato dei cani per gli amici. Il Premio Creativo per il lavoro più creativo secondo la giuria è andato ad Antonello Ascione, di AMG Progetti Industriali di Antonello Ascione, Italia. Ha presentato il lavoro in collaborazione con Loredana Mariani. Si chiama 'Beltade di Loredana Mariani', uno specchio con cornice ricamata. La cornice mostra fiori ricamati di lilium con pistilli che sembrano avere anche un'immagine di una farfalla. La parte ricamata è inclinata sullo specchio e mostra i petali che fuoriescono. Sulle ali della farfalla sono state applicate immagini di cristalli Swarovski. Tutte le fasi dal taglio all'applicazione di particolari goffrati con finitura sono state eseguite a mano. L'oggetto può essere fissato alla parete. Tutto il ricamo è stato perfettamente digitalizzato e ricamato. Il disegno ha richiesto il software GMI Stilista 2000 con tutte le opzioni. La punciatura, della durata di circa cinque ore e il lavoro completo comprendono 136.409 punti. Il ricamo ha richiesto sei ore di lavoro con una macchina per ricamo ZSK JCC. Sono stati utilizzati i seguenti filati: 8 colori diversi di filati metallici, 2 colori di filato di poliestere e 20 cristalli Swarovski. L'intero processo di esecuzione dello schizzo, taglio e incorniciatura ha richiesto 26 ore. AMG ha ricevuto il Premio alla Creatività gentilmente offerto da Pulse Microsystems che ha offerto anche un pacchetto software per stilista Tajima DG/ML by Pulse comprendente elaborazione, lettere alfabetiche e digitalizzazione. Capi finiti Il Primo Premio di questa categoria, il software Millennium 3 elaborazione e lettere con in opzione millennium@embroidery che permette di produrre facilmente disegni su Internet, gentilmente offerto da Proel, è stato vinto da Regina Wendt di Applikationen Estickung Computer Design. Il suo lavoro, una giacca di pelle nera con ricamato un guerriero Red Indian con il cavallo, sul dietro della giacca, è stato realizzato per il marito della signora Wendt, che voleva un capo unico e qualche cosa di speciale. Il disegno è stato eseguito con software Compucon EOS. La punciataura ha richiesto circa 48 ore con 124.000 punti. Il ricamo ha richiesto quattro ore con una macchina mono-testa Happy. Per il ricamo sono stati impiegati diciotto colori di filati Madeira in due tipi, Polyneon e Madeira Classic Ombre. Il copricapo dell'indiano è un'appicazione e la decorazione sulle piume è eseguita con schiuma 3D Stick and Puffy di Gunold. Per il ricamo è stato usato un ago misura 70 di Gunold. Il Secondo Pemio, una collezione Polyneon No 40 comprendente 359 colori di filato di poliestere inclusi dieci colori Astro con il pacchetto Maderia Colour Definition, offerto da Madeira, è stato vinto da Birgit Stadler. Il suo lavoro, una giacca marrone con ricamato un cavaliere ha vinto nella sua categoria. Il ricamo è stato eseguito con colori diversi di filati fluorescenti su schema ricurvo. Perfettamente digitalizzato e ricamato. Il Terzo Premio, una macchina per cucire famiglia, gentilmente offerta da Aisin Europe, è stato vinto da Shoji Ishiida, di Emyu-Rakusai Co. Ltd., Giappone. L'idea del pullover ricamato con pizzo a intaglio deriva dalla moda giapponese che predilige un gusto femminile e trasparente, secondo Ishiida, che ha eseguito il lavoro con la Ms Mayumi Nomura e Sadao Saito. Il ricamo eseguito al centro di un pullover era stato eseguito con una macchina a quattro teste Tajima TMEF impiegando per il ricamo filato Angel King per la sua qualità. Ha vinto in questa categoria con l'uomo barbuto ricamato nel tradizionale caffetano, cui è stato assegnato anche il Gran Premio (vedi sopra) Il Secondo Premio in questa categoria è stato vinto da Alexander Kanchev dalla Bulgaria, che ha vinto una collezione campione di filati Isacord comprendente oltre 315 colori di filato di poliestere gentilmente offerta da Ackermann. Il ricamo è stato eseguito su una macchina a 11 aghi e 6 teste della ZSK utilizzando colori diversi di filati di viscosa Sulky and Sulky di Sierra e Gunold. Il disegno è stato eseguito con software WinDaisy; la punciatura ha richiesto circa due settimane e l'intero lavoro comprende circa 119.000 punti ricamati con aghi Organ needles 135 × 5 Num e 70/10 SES. Il Terzo Premio, un assegno del valore di €400 gentilmente offerto da Gunold GmbH, è stato vinto da Beverley Field di Artistic Embroidery Digitizing, Canada. Il Quarto Premio, un Madeira Colour Definition Package gentilmente offerto da Madeira, è stato vinto da Nora Grawitter di Textilforschungsinstitut Thuringen-Vogtland, Greiz in Germania. Il suo lavoro era una decorazione libera a parete con facce ricamate in un materiale trasparente delle bustine da the asciutte. L'idea era il tentativo di cercare un materiale insolito per la decorazione utilizzando una macchina per ricamo, la stampa manuale su tessuto e alcune tecniche personali, secondo la signora Grawitter. La decorazione a parete è stata ricamata su una macchina per ricamo Lässer lunga circa 2 metri. È stato impiegato filato nero Ackermann Isacord per ottenere l'effetto grafico. seguenti tecniche applicate. Le bustine di the usate sono state fatte asciugare e stirate, quindi poste su felpa e ricamate. Eliminata la felpa sono state nuovamente stirate stampando poi a mano le bustine da the ricamate e non ricamate, infine sono state messe insieme tutte le parti su una superficie, con tecnica propria). L'intero procedimento ha richiesto parecchie settimane. Filati Speciali Il Primo Premio, un EDS DesignShop Pro +, comprese lettere alfabetiche complete, elaborazione, dimensionamento e digitalizzazione più Digitizing Assistant, gentilmente offerto da Melco è stato assegnato al lavoro di Antonello Ascione già vincitore del Premio Creativo, e anche del Primo Premio in questa categoria dei filati speciali. Il Secondo Premio, una collezione campione di filati Sylko comprendente 400 colori di filato Sylko Polyester gentilmente offerta da Coats, è stato vinto da Alexander Kanchev dalla Bulgaria. Il suo lavoro, una scatola decorata con applicazione per contenere oggetti preziosi, è stato eseguito con la moglie, che ha acquistato la scatola. Il ricamo è stato eseguito con una macchina per ricamo Komtekct utilizzando un filato fluorescente Metallic Mety e tre filati solari di Gunold. Il suo lavoro, decorazioni natalizie ricamate, è risultato vincitore in questa categoria. "L'idea del ricamo è stata ispirata dal pizzo Plauener. Occupandomi di punciatura mi ha sempre affascinato il pizzo e mi piace ricamare con questa tecnica," afferma la signora Dobner che ha eseguito il ricamo, disegnato e punciato con software Wings e comprendente circa 56.000 punti. Il ricamo è stato eseguito con una macchina per ricamo a due teste Fortron impiegando filato metallico e Super Twist in vari colori come rosso, blu, oro e argento per dare un tocco solenne ai motivi. Per i filati metallici è stato impiegato un ago misura 80 e per il Super Twist, un ago misura 90. Il lavoro ha richiesto 3 giorni dall'ideazione al ricamo, disegno, digitalizzazione ed esecuzione. Il Quarto Premio, un kit per ricamo comprendente prodotti molto adatti per filati da ricamo, supporti, spray, Avalon, ecc. gentilmente offerto da Aisin Europe, è stato vinto da Beverley Field di Artistic Embroidery Digitising in Canada. Il suo lavoro, un abito da sera nero di tulle era decorato con una tecnica speciale di ricamo a cordoncino e nastri. La decorazione ricamata era eseguita con precisione nella parte superiore dell'abito. The 10th Grand Eurostitch Embroidery Contest 2003 and 2004 The judging of the contest finally took place at Textilveredlung & Promotion show held 1-3 February in Stuttgart, Germany. The change of original date and venue, which was because of the postponement of IDEAS exhibition in 2003, had no effect on the excitement shown by the majority of the visitors during the judging of the contest in Stuttgart. The entries, which were displayed at our stand during the show, drew a lot of attention. For the judging of the entries, a panel of professionals had been invited, consisting of Mr Harrie Smeets, Account Manager of Prostitch, Holland, Mr Massimo Baezzato, Owner Constitch Stickdesigns in Germany and Mrs Gabriela Wiesmann of GiS Tech Solution, Germany. Embroidery contest This year, entries were in three categories: A - Finished Garments: Embroidery on any finished garment such as dresses, shirts, sweaters, caps, etc. B - Wall Decoration: Embroideries intended for use as a piece on the wall (this embroidery had to be framed). C - Special Threads: Embroideries on any material made with special threads (metallic threads, fluorescent threads, wool threads). All entries were judged against four established criteria. The first was creativity and originality - entries were judged on the use of material or embroidery techniques in an original, creative way. Second, the effective use of colours - the good use of colours to enhance the embroidery effect. The third condition was neatness of embroidery - the quality achieved with punching and embroidery and also considering the presentation of the embroidery. The fourth condition was skill the good application of techniques and overall continuity in punching. The judges had difficult decisions to make, because of the high quality of the entries and the art of embroidery concepts displayed in the works. The Grand Prize, for the best piece of embroidery from all the categories, chosen by the professional judges, was won by Mr Ergan Yaran, from Nakissan Ltd., S.T.I. in Turkey. The idea for the entry, an embroidered image of Mevlana, a philosopher and mystic of Islam was to represent his religious doctrine of tolerance, positive reasoning, goodness, charity and awareness through love. To him and his disciples, there is religious truths in every religion, be it Muslim, Jew or Christian. His teaching has appealed to men of all sects and creeds. "We as a company, would like to follow his doctrines and share our works, ideas and facilities with other companies without any limits," according to Mr Yaran who made the embroidery in collaboration with other colleagues. The 25 cm × 35 cm entry was embroidered on a 4-head Tajima machine containing nine needles to achieve maximum stitch quality. For the embroidery, 1,523 metres of threads consisting of Durak, Epiriler and Gunold Visco 30 and 40 in 25 different colours and effects were used to achieve consistency. In order to depict a sad image expression, a black suede material was used in the background to highlight the different colours used on the face as well as the loose view on the shirt. Special about this embroidery are the different parts, colours and effects used. Designing and punching, which took thirty-nine hours, was done with the Punto 5.05 embroidery software program, the whole work contains 197,824 stitches. A number 70 needle was used for embroidery. Nakissan Ltd., Turkey will receive the Grand Eurostitch Embroidery Challenge Cup engraved with their name, to be kept for one year. They will also receive the Grand Prize donated by Wings Systems Ltd. and Embrosol. Wings Systems Ltd. offers a Wings XP software package including CorelDRAW and OLE-2 technology, enabling users to use CorelDRAW virtually inside eXperience and convert CorelDRAW outlines to high-quality embroidery. In combination with this, Embrosol is offering one-day training on Wings software. The Special Prize: Besides the best entry chosen by the expert judges, there is also the Special Prize for the best entry as determined by the public. The special prize is kindly donated by GiS Tech Solutions who are offering a BasePac 21 Ace Software package, for administration, e-mailing, monogramming with TrueType import and automatic punching. The prize has been won by Linda Verstappen, from Thermopatch Company, Holland. The entry is called a doggy dog and shows a facial image of a dog on the cover of a bag. The idea came from her interest in reading magazines about dogs, as she has one as a pet. "I wanted to make a bag that I could work with to do dog training and put dog treats and toys in," according to Mrs Verstappen who made the bag. The design of the bag, which was made in two parts: the face on the top of the bag and the neckline on the other part, was purposely done to show a look that depicts a dog carrying a magazine in its mouth when the bag is opened. Designing was done by EPC Punch, ZSK embroidery software and contains about 70,450 stitches. A single-head ZSK machine was used. For the embroidery, Isacord and Madeira threads were used. The whole work, which took a few hours, was done by Mrs Verstappen who enjoys the embroidery punching of animals and has embroidered dogs in the past for friends. The Creative Prize, the most creative entry as decided by the judging panel, was won by Mr Antonello Ascione, from AMG Progetti Industriali di Antonello Ascione, Italy. He made the entry in co-operation with Loredana Mariani. The entry is called 'Beltade of Loredana Mariani', a mirror with an embroidered frame. The frame shows embroidered flowers of lilium with pistils, which looks like a butterfly image has been placed on it. The embroidered part is leaned on the mirror showing petals that escape within and outside of it. On the wings of the butterfly, some images of Swarovski crystals have been applied. All the processes involved, from cutting the work, application of embossed parts and finishing touches, have been done by hand. The object can be fixed on a wall. The whole embroidery was perfectly digitised and embroidered. Designing was done with GMI Stilista 2000 software, with full options. Punching took about five hours and the complete work contains 136,409 stitches. The embroidery took six hours to complete with a ZSK JCC embroidery

machine. The following threads were used: 8 different colours of metallic threads, 2 colours of thread polyester and 20 Swarovski crystals . The total process of sketching, cutting and framing the work took 26 hours. AMG received the Creative Prize, kindly donated by Pulse Microsystems who are offering a Designer level of Tajima DG/ML by Pulse software package including editing, lettering and digitising. Finished garments The First Prize in this category, Millennium 3 editor plus lettering software with millennium@embroidery as an option, allowing easy production of designs on the Internet, kindly donated by Proel, was won by Mrs Regina Wendt from Applikationen Estickung Computer Design. Her entry, a black leather jacket with an embroidered image showing a Red Indian warrior with his horse on the back of the jacket. The entry was done for Mrs Wendt's husband, who wanted something unique and special on his leather vest. Designing was undertaken with Compucon EOS software. The punching took about 48 hours and the whole work contains 124,000 stitches. The embroidery took four hours with a Happy single-head machine. For the embroidery, eighteen colours of Madeira threads in two types were used consisting of Polyneon and Madeira Classic Ombre. The cape of the Indian is an appliqué and the decoration on the feathers is with 3D Stick and Puffy foam from Gunold. A size 70 needle from Gunold was used for the embroidery. The Second Prize, a Polyneon No 40 collection, consisting of 359 colours of polyester thread including ten Astro colours together with Maderia Colour Definition package, donated by Madeira, was won by Mrs Birgit Stadler. Her entry, a brown vest showing an embroidered image of a horse rider won this category. The embroidery was done with different colours of fluorising threads in a curved pattern. The work was perfectly digitised and embroidered. The Third Prize, a home sewing machine kindly donated by Aisin Europe, has been won by Mr Shoji Ishiida, from EmyuRakusai Co. Ltd., Japan. The idea of the embroidered cut-lace pullover was drawn from the trend of Japanese fashion, which is going into feminine and transparent taste, according to Mr Ishiida, who did the embroidery in collaboration with Ms Mayumi Nomura and Mr Sadao Saito. The embroidery done in the middle of the pullover was with a 4-head Tajima TMEF machine. For the embroidery, Angel King thread was used in order to attain quality. Designing, which took two days, was done with Compucon Hyperstitch; the whole work contains about 62,000 stitches. An Organ no.10 needle was used for the embroidery. The Fourth Prize, a Dakota package containing 30 selected designs of the winner's preferred machine type kindly donated by de Gast Ontwerpstudio, was won by Mrs Linda Verstappen from Thermopath, Holland. Her entry, the doggy bag that was awarded the Special Prize, also won this category of finished garments. Wall decoration The First Prize, an EOS creator software package, enabling you to digitise and edit your embroidery, is packed with practical and time-saving tools, a wide variety of stitch types, fonts and frames as well as very advanced functions, kindly donated by Compucon was won by Mr Erhan Rayan from Nakissan Ltd., Turkey. He won this category with his embroidered bearded man in traditional kaftan entry, which also won the Grand Prize. (See above) The Second Prize in this category was won by Mr Alexander Kanchev from Bulgaria, who won an Isacord thread sample collection consisting of more than 315 colours of polyester thread kindly donated by Ackermann. His wall decoration shows an embroidered image of the Virgin Mary and son Jesus Christ. The idea of the work was drawn from beautiful icons of Bulgarian artist IIija Rachov. "We saw them on the Internet," said Mr Kanchev, who did the embroidery in collaboration with his wife Bistra Kanchev. The embroidery was done on an 11- needle, 6-head ZSK embroidery machine. For the embroidery, different colours of viscose Sulky and Sulky threads from Sierra and Gunold were used. Designing was with WinDaisy software; the punching took about two weeks and the whole work contains about 119,000 stitches. Organ needles 135 × 5 Num and 70/10 SES were used. The embroidery of the whole work took about four hours. The Third Prize, a cheque to the value of €400 kindly donated by Gunold GmbH, was won by Mr Beverley Field from Artistic Embroidery Digitizing, Canada. The entry, Michelangelo's Creation of Adam won this category. Designing was with Wilcom software and the embroidery contains 226,760 stitches. A single-head Tajima TMEX C 1201-C twelvecolour machine was used for embroidery. Gunold thread has been used in thirteen different colours for the embroidery. Mr Field did all the embroidery and designing, which took about 47 hours to complete. The Fourth Prize, a Madeira Colour Definition Package kindly donated by Madeira, has been won by Mrs Nora Grawitter from Textilforschungsinstitut Thuringen-Vogtland, Greiz in Germany. Her entry, a loose wall decoration showing embroidered faces in a transparent, dried tea bag material, won this category. The idea behind the entry was a tentative approach of looking for unusual material to decorate, using an embroidery machine, manual textile printing and some personal techniques, according to Mrs Grawitter. The wall decoration was embroidered with a 2.5-yard-long Lässer embroidery machine. Ackermann Isacord thread in black colour was used to achieve the graphic effect. Designing was with BIFO- Lässer Direct software; the whole work contains about 42,000 stitches. Needles L 83-0 SUK for large embroidery machines were used. Mrs Grawitter collaborated with Mr Breunung to realise the following techniques that were applied. (The used tea bags were dried and ironed, then placed on a fleece and embroidered. After the fleece was removed and ironed again, followed by manually printing of embroidered and unembroidered tea bags, all parts were finally together to a surface with a self-developed technique). The whole process took several weeks to complete. Special threads

The First Prize, an EDS DesignShop Pro +, including complete lettering, editing, sizing and digitising plus Digitizing Assistant, kindly donated by Melco has been won by Mr Antonello Ascione's entry, which was awarded the Creative Prize, and also won the First Prize in this category of special threads. You can read more about this entry under the Creative Prize section above. The Second Prize, a Sylko thread sample collection, consisting of 400 colours of Sylko Polyester thread kindly donated by Coats, has been won by Alexander Kanchev from Bulgaria. His entry, an appliquéd decorated box for storing something valuable was done in co-operation with his wife, who bought the box. The embroidery was done with a Komtekct embroidery machine. For the embroidery, one Metallic Mety, fluorising fluor and three solar threads from Gunold were used. These threads were used because of their attractiveness and to make unconventional designs. Designing was with WinDaisy embroidery software and the whole work contains about 97,000 stitches. Organ needles 135 × 5 Num: and 70/10 SES was used. The whole work including test, designing and embroidery took about a week to create. The Third Prize, a cheque to the value of 100 Pounds Sterling kindly donated by David Sharp, has been won by Mrs Cornelia Dobner from Creative Design in Germany. Her entry, embroidered Christmas ornaments, won this category. "The idea of the embroidery was inspired by Plauener lace. As a puncher, I am always fascinated by discharge lace and I really like this embroidery technique," according to Mrs Dobner who did the embroidery. The whole work, which was designed and punched with Wings software, contains about 56,000 stitches. The embroidery was done with a 2-head Fortron embroidery machine. For the embroidery, metallic thread and Super Twist in different colours of red, blue, gold and silver were used to give the designs a special solemn touch. For the metallic yarns, a needle of size 80 was used, and for the Super Twist, a needle of size 90 was used. The whole work took 3 days to complete from concept, embroidery design, digitising and embroidery. The Fourth Prize, an embroidery kit, consisting of products that are very suitable for embroidery threads, backings, spray, Avalon, etc. kindly donated by Aisin Europe, has been won by Beverley Field from Artistic Embroidery Digitising in Canada. His entry, a black evening gown in tulle material was decorated with a special embroidered technique of cording and taping. The embroidered decoration was neatly done in the upper part of the gown. Der 10. Große Eurostitch Stickerei-Wettbewerb 2003 und 2004 Die Beurteilung des Wettbewerbs fand auf der Textilveredlung & Promotion Messe statt, die vom 1. - 3. Februar in Stuttgart durchgeführt wurde. Die Änderung des ursprünglich geplanten Datums und Orts, bedingt durch die Verschiebung der IDEAS-Messe 2003, tat der Begeisterung der meisten Standbesucher während der Beurteilung des Wettbewerbs in Stuttgart keinen Abbruch. Die Beiträge, die während der Messe an unserem Stand ausgestellt waren, zogen viel Aufmerksamkeit auf sich. Inleiding Zur Bewertung der Eingaben wurde eine professionelle Jury eingeladen, bestehend aus Herr Harrie Smeets, Kundenbetreuer bei Prostitch, Holland, Herr Massimo Baezzato, Inhaber von Constitch Stickdesign, Deutschland, und Frau Gabriela Wiesmann von GiS Tech Solution, Deutschland. Stickerei-Wettbewerb In diesem Jahr gab es Beiträge in drei Kategorien: A - Fertige Bekleidung: Stickereien auf fertiger Bekleidung wie Kleider, Shirts, Sweaters, Caps usw. B - Wanddekoration: Stickereien, die als Wandschmuck gedacht sind (diese Stickereien mussten gerahmt sein). C Spezialgarne Stickereien auf jedes Material, die mit Spezialgarnen gestickt wurden (Metallgarne, Fluoreszentgarne, Wollgarne). Alle Eingaben wurden anhand von vier festgelegten Kriterien beurteilt. Das Erste war Kreativität und Originalität - die Eingaben wurden auf den originellen und kreativen Einsatz von Material und Stickereitechniken bewertet. Zweitens, der wirkungsvolle Einsatz der Farben - die gute Verwendung der Farben, um den Effekt der Stickerei zu erhöhen. Das dritte Kriterium war das Erscheinungsbild der Stickerei - die durch das Punchen und Sticken erreichte Qualität und auch die Aufmachung der Stickerei. Das vierte Kriterium war das Können - der gute Einsatz der Techniken und die allgemeine Beständigkeit bei der Digitalisation. Die hohe Qualität der Eingaben und die Kunst der Stickereikonzepte der ausgestellten Werke stellten die Preisrichter vor schwierige Entscheidungen. Den Hauptpreis für die beste Stickerei aus allen Kategorien, ausgewählt durch die professionellen Preisrichter, gewann Herr Ergan Yaran von Nakissan Ltd., S.T.I. aus der Türkei. Die Eingabe stellte das gestickte Abbild von Mevlana dar, einem Philosophen und Mystiker aus dem Islam, und zeigte seine religiöse Doktrin der Toleranz, des positiven Denkens, der Gutherzigkeit, der Wohltätigkeit und des Bewusstseins durch Liebe. Gemäß ihm und seinen Anhängern steckt in jeder Religion religiöse Wahrheit, sei es nun im Islam, im Judentum oder im Christentum. Von seinen Lehren fühlen sich Menschen aus allen Sekten und Glaubensrichtungen angezogen. "Als Unternehmen möchten wir seine Doktrin nachleben und unsere Arbeiten, Ideen und Einrichtungen mit anderen Unternehmen teilen, ohne Grenzen", sagt Herr Yaran, der die Stickerei in Zusammenarbeit mit seinen Kollegen erstellt hatte. Die 25 cm x 35 cm große Stickerei war auf einer 4-Kopfmaschine von Tajima mit neun Nadeln produziert worden, um eine maximale Stickqualität zu erzielen. Für die Stickerei wurden 1´523 Meter Garn verwendet, Durak, Epiriler und Gunold Visco 30 und 40 in 25 verschiedenen Farben und Effekten erzielten die notwendige Konsistenz. Um den traurigen Ausdruck zu erzielen, wurde im Hintergrund schwarzer Velours verwendet, der die verschiedenen Farben des Gesichts hervorhebt und den Blick auf das Shirt lenkt. Das Besondere dieser Stickerei sind die verschiedenen Elemente, Farben und Effekte, die eingesetzt wurden. Entwerfen und Digitalisieren nahmen 39 Stunden in Anspruch und es wurde mit der Punto 5.05 Stickereisoftware gearbeitet. Die gesamte Arbeit zählt 197'824 Stiche. Es wurde mit einer Nadel 70 gestickt. Nakissan Ltd., Türkei, wird den Großen Eurostitch Stickerei Challenge Cup Wanderpokal mit eingraviertem Namen für die Dauer eines Jahres erhalten. Sie erhalten auch den Hauptpreis, der liebenswürdigerweise von Wings Systems Ltd und Embrosol gestiftet wurde. Wings Systems Ltd. stiftet eine Wings XP Software, inklusive CorelDRAW(r) und OLE-2 Technologie, welche den Benutzern erlaubt, CorelDraw(r) virtuell innerhalb von eXPerience zu benutzen und CorelDraw Konturen in erstklassige Stickerei umzuwandeln. Dazu gehört ein Tag Schulung auf der Wings Software, gestiftet von Embrosol. Der Sonderpreis: Neben dem Großen Preis der Expertenjury wird auch der Sonderpreis für den besten Beitrag vom Publikum ausgewählt. Der Sonderpreis ist liebenswürdigerweise gestiftet von GiS Tech Solutions, ein BasePac 21 Ace Software-Paket für die Administration von Designs, E-Mailing, Monogramme mit True-Type Importation und automatisches Punchen. Der Preis ging an Linda Verstappen von Thermopatch Company, Holland. Ihr Beitrag heißt Doggy Dog und zeigt das Gesicht eines Hundes auf einer Tasche. Die Idee entstammt ihrem Interesse an Hundemagazinen und zudem ist sie selber Hundebesitzerin. "Ich wollte eine Tasche machen, in der ich die Leckereien und Spielzeuge zum Hundetraining mitnehmen kann", sagte Frau Verstappen, die die Tasche herstellte. Das Design der Tasche wurde in zwei Teilen erstellt: Das Gesicht auf der oberen Seite der Tasche und die Halslinie auf der anderen Seite wurden absichtlich so gestaltet, dass es bei offener Tasche so ausschaut, als würde der Hund ein Magazin im Mund tragen. Der Designprozess wurde auf einer EPC Punch, ZSK Stickereisoftware ausgeführt und das Werk besteht aus 70'450 Stichen. Sie benutzte eine ZSK Einkopfstickmaschine. Zum Sticken wurden Isacord und Madeira Garne verwendet. Die gesamte Arbeit nahm ein paar Stunden in Anspruch und wurde von Frau Verstappen ausgeführt, die besonders gerne Tierbilder digitalisiert und schon oft Hundeillustrationen für Freunde gestickt hatte. Der Kreativpreis, der von der Jury für die kreativste Eingabe vergeben wurde, ging an Herrn Antonello Ascione von AMG Progetti Industriali di Antonello Ascione, Italien. Er stellte seine Eingabe in Zusammenarbeit mit Loredana Mariani her. Der Beitrag heißt "Beltade von Loredana Mariani", ein Spiegel mit gesticktem Rahmen. Der Rahmen zeigt gestickte Lilien mit Blütenstempeln, auf denen Schmetterlinge flattern. Die gestickten Teile lehnen auf dem Spiegel und stellen Blüten dar, die aus dem Rahmen wachsen. Die Schmetterlingsflügel sind mit Swarovskisteinen geschmückt. Alle Arbeitsvorgänge, vom Ausschneiden der Arbeit, über die Applikation der gestanzten Teile bis zu den Detailarbeiten wurden von Hand ausgeführt. Das Objekt kann an die Wand gehängt werden. Die gesamte Stickerei ist perfekt gepuncht

und gestickt. Das Design wurde auf der Software GMI Stilista 2000 mit allen Optionen erstellt. Das Punchen nahm rund fünf Stunden in Anspruch, das gesamte Werk kommt auf 136'409 Stiche. Die Stickerei selber dauerte sechs Stunden und wurde auf einer ZSK JCC Stickmaschine ausgeführt. Es wurden folgende Garne verwendet: 8 verschiedene Farben von Metallic-Garnen, 2 Farben Polyestergarn und 20 Swarovskisteine. Die gesamte Arbeit, Entwurf, Schnitt und Rahmen nahm 26 Stunden in Anspruch. AMG erhielt den Kreativpreis, der liebenswürdigerweise von Puls Microsystems gestiftet wurde, ein Designer Level von Tajima DG/ML by Pulse Software Paket, inklusive Editing, Lettering und Digitalisation. Konfektionsbekleidung Der erste Preis dieser Kategorie, liebenswürdigerweise von Proel gestiftet, eine Millennium 3 Editor inklusive Lettering Software mit millennium@embroidery als Option, welche die Herstellung von Designs auf Internet auf einfachste Weise ermöglicht, ging an Frau Regina Wendt von Applikationen Estickung Computer Design. Ihre Eingabe war eine schwarze Lederjacke mit einem gestickten Bild eines roten Indianerkriegers mit seinem Pferd auf dem Jackenrücken. Der Beitrag wurde für den Ehemann von Frau Wendt gestickt, der etwas Besonderes und Einzigartiges auf seiner Lederjacke wollte. Das Design wurde mit einer Compucon EOS Software ausgeführt. Die Puncharbeit nahm etwa 48 Stunden in Anspruch, bei einer gesamten Stichzahl von 124,000 Stichen. Die Stickerei selber dauerte vier Stunden und wurde auf einer Happy Einkopfstickmaschine ausgeführt. Zum Sticken wurden achtzehn Farben von Madeira Garn in zwei Sorten benutzt, Polyneon und Madeira Classic Ombre. Der Umhang des Indianers ist eine Applikation und die Federndekoration ist mit 3D Stick und Puffy Schaum von Gunold hergestellt worden. Es wurde mit einer Nadel der Stärke 70 von Gunold gestickt. Der zweite Preis, ein Polyneonsortiment No. 40, bestehend aus 359 Farben Polyestergarn inklusive zehn Astro Farben und einem Colour Definition Paket, liebenswürdigerweise von Madeira gestiftet, ging an Frau Birgit Stadler. Ihre Eingabe, eine braune Weste mit einem gestickten Bild eines Reiters gewann in dieser Kategorie. Die Stickerei wurde mit verschiedenen fluoreszierenden Garnen mit welligen Mustern gestaltet. Die gesamte Stickerei ist perfekt gepuncht und gestickt. Der dritte Preis, eine Haushaltsnähmaschine, liebenswúrdigerweise von Aisin Europe gestiftet, ging an Herrn Shoji Ishiida, von Emyu Rakusai Co. Ltd. Japan. Die Idee für den bestickten Spitzenpullover entstammt einem Trend aus der japanischen Mode, bei dem, gemäß Herrn Ishiida, Weiblichkeit und Transparenz tragend sind. Er führte die Stickerei in Zusammenarbeit mit Frau Mayumi Nomura und Herrn Sadao Saito aus. Die Stickerei im Zentrum des Pullovers wurde mit einer 4-Kopfstickmaschine von Tajima TMEF realisiert. Um eine gute Qualität zu erzielen, wurde Angel King Garn verwendet. Das Stickereidesign, das zwei Tage in Anspruch nahm, wurde mit dem System Compucon Hyperstitch ausgeführt. Die gesamte Arbeit besteht aus etwa 62,000 Stichen. Für die Stickerei wurde mit einer Nadel von Organ, Nr. 10 gearbeitet. Den vierten Preis stiftet liebenswürdigerweise de Gast Ontwerpstudio, ein Dakota Package, welches 30 ausgesuchte Designs, für den vom Gewinner bevorzugten Maschinentyp, beinhaltet. Er ging an Frau Linda Verstappen. Ihre Eingabe, die Hundetasche, welche den Spezial Preis gewonnen hat, gewann auch in der Kategorie der fertigen Artikel. Wanddekoration Der erste Preis, ein EOS Creator Software Paket zum Digitalisieren und Editieren von Stickerei, mit praktischen Zeit sparenden Werkzeugen, einer Vielfalt von Stichtypen, Schriften und Bordüren sowie fortschrittlichen Funktionen wurde liebenswürdigerweise von Compucon gestiftet und ging an Herrn Erhan Rayan von Nakissan Ltd. Türkei. Er gewann in dieser Kategorie mit seinem gestickten Porträt des weisen, bärtigen Mannes, für den er auch den Großen Preis erhielt. (Siehe oben) Der zweite Preis in dieser Kategorie ging an Herrn Alexander Kanchev aus Bulgarien, eine Isacord Garn Musterkollektion, welche Polyestergarn in über 315 Farben enthält, liebenswürdigerweise von Ackermann gestiftet. Seine Wanddekoration zeigt ein gesticktes Bild der Jungfrau Maria und ihrem Sohn Jesus Christus. Die Inspiration zur Stickerei kam von einer wundervollen Ikone des bulgarischen Künstlers Ilija Rachov. "Wir sahen sie im Internet", sagte Herr Kanchev, der die Stickerei in Zusammenarbeit mit seiner Frau Bistra Kanchev anfertigte. Die Stickerei wurde mit Nadeln der Stärke 11 auf einer Sechskopfstickmaschine von ZSK hergestellt. Zum Sticken wurden verschiedene Farben von Viskose Sulky und Sulky Garnen von Sierra und Gunold verwendet. Das Design entstand mit der Software WinDaisy; die Digitalisation nahm etwa zwei Wochen in Anspruch, da die gesamte Arbeit ungefähr 119,000 Stiche zählt. Der vierte Preis, ein Madeira Colour Definition Paket, liebenswürdigerweise von Madeira gestiftet, ging an Frau Nora Grawitter vom Textilforschungsinstitut Thüringen-Vogtland, Greiz in Deutschland. Ihre Eingabe, eine lose Wanddekoration mit gestickten Gesichtern aus einem transparenten, getrockneten Teebeutelmaterial gewann diesen Preis. Gemäß Frau Grawitter verlockte sie die Idee, ungewöhnliches Material zu verwenden. Für die Arbeit verwendete sie eine Stickmaschine, manuelle Textildrucktechniken und selber entwickelte Methoden. Die Wanddekoration wurde auf einer 2.5-Yard-Stickmaschine von Lässer hergestellt. Für die grafischen Effekte benutzte sie schwarzes Isacord Garn von Ackermann. Das Design wurde mit der BIFO - Lässer Direct Software erstellt, das gesamte Werk kommt auf etwa 42'000 Stiche. Es wurden Nadeln des Typs L 83-0 SUK für große Maschinen eingesetzt. Frau Grawitter arbeitete für die Realisierung der folgenden Techniken mit Herrn Breunung zusammen. (Die gebrauchten Teebeutel wurden getrocknet und gebügelt und anschließend auf ein Vlies gelegt und bestickt. Nachdem das Vlies entfernt und das Material wieder gebügelt war, wurden die bestickten und unbestickten Teebeutel von Hand bedruckt und alle Teile wurden am Schluss mit einer selbst entwickelten Technik zu einem Flächengebilde vereint.) Der ganze Prozess dauerte mehrere Wochen.

Spezialgarne Der erste Preis, eine EDS DesignShop Pro+, einschließlich Lettering, Editieren, Vergrößerungsfunktionen, Digitalisation und Digitizing Assistent, liebenswürdigerweise gestiftet von Melco, ging an Antonello Ascione, dessen Eingabe schon den Kreativpreis gewonnen hat. Die Stickerei wurde auf einer Komtekct Stickmaschine hergestellt. Zum Sticken wurden Metallic Mety, fluoreszierende Garne und drei Solargarne von Gunold verwendet. Die ausgewählten Garne sind äußerst attraktiv und erlauben, unkonventionelle Designs zu gestalten. Das Design entstand mit der Software WinDaisy und die gesamte Arbeit zählt ungefähr 97,000 Stiche. Es wurden Organ Nadeln 135 x 5 Num und 70/10 SES verwendet. Die gesamte Arbeit, einschließlich Proben, Design und Stickerei nahm etwa eine Woche in Anspruch. Der dritte Preis, ein Check im Wert von 100 Pfund Sterling, liebenswürdigerweise von David Sharp gestiftet, ging an Frau Cornelia Dobner von Creative Design, Deutschland. Das Design entstand mit der Software Wings und die gesamte Arbeit zählt ungefähr 56,000 Stiche. Die Stickerei wurde auf einer Fortron 2-Kopfstickmaschine hergestellt. Metallic-Garne und Super Twist in verschiedenen Farben, Rot, Blau, Gold und Silber verleihen dem Design ein besonders feierliches Erscheinungsbild. Die Metallic-Garne wurden mit Nadeln der Größe 80 gestickt, für den Super Twist kamen Nadeln der Größe 90 zur Anwendung. Die gesamte Arbeit nahm drei Tage in Anspruch, vom Konzept über das Stickereidesign, der Digitalisation und der Herstellung der Stickerei. Der vierte Preis wurde liebenswürdigerweise von Aisin Europe gespendet, ein Stickerei-Kit, welches nützliche Zutaten für die Stickerei, wie Stickgarne, Stickunterlagen, Spray, Avalon usw. enthält. Er ging an Beverley Field von Artistic Embroidery Digitising aus Kanada. Sein Beitrag, ein schwarzes Abendkleid aus Tüll, war mit einer speziellen Stickereitechnik mit Kordeln und Bändern bestickt. Die Stickerei umschmeichelt den oberen Teil des Abendkleids. Eurostitch Magazine gratuliert und dankt allen Teilnehmern des Wettbewerbs, auch denjenigen, die diesmal keine Preise gewonnen haben. El 10º Gran Concurso de Bordado Eurostitch 2003 y 2004 El desenlace del concurso finalmente tuvo lugar en la Feria Textilveredlung & Promotion llevada a cabo del 1 al 3 de Febrero en Sttutgart, Alemania. La modificación de la fecha original al igual que el lugar, debido a la postergación de la Feria IDEAS en 2003, no afectó el entusiasmo mostrado por la mayoría de los visitantes durante la valoración del concurso en Stuttgart. Las obras, que fueron presentadas en nuestro stand durante la feria, llamaron muchísimo la atención. Para la valoración de las mismas, fue invitado un panel de profesionales, formado por el Sr. Harrie Smeets, Director de Cuentas de Prostitch, Holanda, el Sr. Massimo Baezzato, Dueño de Constitch Stickdesigns en Alemania y la Sra. Gabriela Wiesmann de GiS Tech Solution, Alemania. Concurso de Bordados Este año, las obras estaban en tres categorías: A - Prendas Terminadas: Bordado en cualquier prenda terminada tal como vestidos, camisetas, sweaters, gorras, etc. B - Decoración para Paredes: Bordados destinados a ser utilizados como una pieza en la pared (este bordado debe ser enmarcado). C - Hilos especiales: Bordados en cualquier material hecho con hilos especiales (hilos metálicos, hilos fluorescentes, hilos de lana). Todas las obras fueron valoradas sobre cuatro criterios establecidos. El primero fue la creatividad y la originalidad - las obras fueron juzgadas por el uso del material o técnicas de bordado de una manera original y creativa. El segundo, fue el uso efectivo de los colores - el buen uso de los colores para mejorar el efecto del bordado. La tercera condición fue la prolijidad del bordado - la calidad lograda con el punchado y el bordado y asimismo considerando la presentación del bordado. La cuarta condición fue la habilidad - la buena aplicación de las técnicas y la continuidad en el punchado. Los jueces han tenido que tomar decisiones difíciles, debido a la alta calidad de las obras y el arte de los conceptos de bordado mostrados en los trabajos. El Gran Premio, para la mejor pieza de bordado de todas las categorías, elegido por los jueces profesionales, fue ganado por el Sr. Ergan Yaran, de Nakissan Ltd., S.T.I. en Turquía. La idea para su pieza, una imagen bordada de Mevlana, un filósofo y místico del Islam, era representar su doctrina religiosa de la tolerancia, razonamiento positivo, bondad, caridad y conciencia a través del amor. Para el y sus discípulos, hay verdades religiosas en todas las religiones, llámese musulmana, judía o cristiana. Su enseñanza ha apelado a los hombres de todas las sectas y credos. La pieza de 25 x 35 cm ha sido bordada en una máquina Tajima de cuatro cabezas que contiene nueve agujas para lograr una máxima calidad de puntadas. Para el bordado, fueron utilizados 1523 metros de hilo Durak, Epiriler y Gunold Visco 30 y 40 en 25 colores y efectos distintos fueron usados para lograr consistencia. De modo de representar una imagen de expresión triste, un material de gamuza negra fue utilizado en el fondo para destacar los diferentes colores utilizados en la cara así como la mirada perdida en la camisa. Lo especial de este bordado son las diferentes partes, colores, y efectos usados. El diseño y punchado, lo que llevó 39 horas, fue realizado con el software Punto 5.05, y todo el trabajo contiene 197824 puntadas. La aguja número 70 fue usada para el bordado. Nakissan Ltd, de Turquía, recibirá la Gran Copa Desafío de Bordado Eurostitch grabada con su nombre, para que la mantengan un año. También recibirán el Gran Premio donado por Wings Systems Ltd. y Embrosol. El premio ha sido ganado por Linda Verstappen, de Thermopatch Company, Holanda. La pieza se llama doggy bag y muestra una imagen facial de un perro en la portada de un bolso. La idea vino de su interés en leer revistas sobre perros, ya que tuvo uno como mascota. "Quería hacer un bolso con el que pueda trabajar para entrenamientos de perros, y para poner juguetes y cosas de los perros," de acuerdo a la Sra. Verstappen, quien hizo el bolso. El diseño del bolso, fue hecho en dos partes: la cara en la parte de arriba del bolso y la línea del cuello en la otra parte, estuvo hecho a propósito para mostrar un aspecto que represente un perro llevando una revista en su boca cuando el bolso esté abierto. El diseño fue realizado por EPC Punch, software de bordado de ZSK y contiene alrededor de 70450 puntadas. Una máquina mono cabezal ZSK fue utilizada. Para el bordado, hilos de Isacord y Madeira fueron usados. Todo el trabajo, que sólo llevó unas pocas horas, fue hecho por la Sra. Verstappen quien disfruta del punchado de bordados de animales y ha bordado perros en el pasado para amigos. El Premio Creativo, la pieza más creativa según fue decidido por el panel valorativo, fue ganado por el Sr. Antonello Ascione, de AMG Progetti Industriali di Antonello Ascione, Italia. El hizo la pieza en cooperación con Loredana Mariani, La pieza se llama 'Beltade of Loredana Mariani', un espejo con un marco bordado. Prendas terminadas El Primer Premio en esta categoría, el software Millenium 3 editor plus lettering con millenium@embroidery como opción, que permite una sencilla producción de diseños en Internet, amablemente donado por Proel, ha sido obtenido por la Sra. Ha sido galardonado con este premio con su hombre con barba bordado, una pieza caftán tradicional, la que obtuvo también el Gran premio (ver arriba). El Segundo Premio en esta categoría fue obtenido por Alexander Kanchev de Bulgaria, quien ganó una muestra de hilo Isacord que consiste en más de 315 colores de hilo de poliéster amablemente donados por Ackermann. Su decoración para paredes muestra una imagen bordada de la Virgen María y su hijo Jesucristo. La idea del trabajo ha sido obtenida de íconos preciosos del artista búlgaro IIija Rachov. "Las vimos en Internet", dijo el Sr. Kanchev, quien hizo el bordado en colaboración con su esposa, Bistra Kanchev. El bordado fue realizado con una máquina de bordar ZSK de 11-agujas y 6-cabezas. Para el bordado, diferentes colores de viscosa Sulky e hilos Sulky de Sierra y Gunold fueron usados. El diseño fue hecho con un software WinDaisy; el punchado llevó alrededor de 2 semanas y todo el trabajo contiene aproximadamente 119.000 puntadas. Agujas Organ de num 135 × 5 y 70/10 SES fueron utilizadas. El bordado de todo el trabajo duró cuatro horas. El Tercer Premio, un cheque por el valor de €400 donado amablemente por Gunold GmbH, fue obtenido por Beverley Field de Artistic Embroidery Digitizing, Canadá. La pieza, La Creación de Adán por Miguel Angel ganó esta categoría. El diseño fue realizado con un software Wilcom y el bordado contiene 226.760 puntadas. Una máquina de una cabeza Tajima TMEX C 1201-C con doce colores fue utilizada para el bordado. El hilo de Gunold ha sido usado en trece colores diferentes. El Sr. Field hizo todo el diseño y la digitalización, lo que le llevó unas cuarenta y siete horas completarlo. El Cuarto Premio, un Pack de Colour Definition de Madeira, donado amablemente por Madeira, ha sido obtenido por Nora Grawitter de Textilforschungsinstitut Thuringen-Vogtland, Greiz en Alemania. Su pieza, una decoración para pared suelta mostrando caras bordadas en un material transparente, de material de saquito de té seco, ganó esta categoría. La idea detrás de esta pieza era una búsqueda de un material poco usual para decorar, utilizando una máquina de bordar, impresión textil manual y algunas técnicas personales, de acuerdo con la Sra. Grawitter. La decoración de pared fue bordada con una máquina de bordar de 2,5 yardas de largo Lässer. Se utilizó el hilo Ackermann Isacord en color negro para lograr el efecto gráfico. El diseño fue hecho con el software BIFO- Lässer Direct; todo el trabajo contiene aproximadamente 42.000 puntadas. Agujas L 83-0 SUK para máquinas de bordar grandes fueron utilizadas. La Sra. El Segundo Premio, una colección de muestra de hilos Sylko, que consiste en 400 colores de hilo Sylko Poliéster amablemente donado por Coats, ha sido obtenido por Alexander Kanchev de Bulgaria. Su pieza, una caja decorada con apliques para guardar cosas valiosas fue hecha en cooperación con su esposa, quien compró la caja. El bordado fue hecho con una máquina de bordar Komtektc. Para el bordado, un Mety Metálico, fluor fluorescente y tres hilos solares de Gunold fueron usados. Estos hilos fueron usados debido a su atractivo para poder hacer diseños no convencionales. El Tercer Premio, un cheque por el valor de 100 libras esterlinas fue amablemente donado por David Sharp, y lo ganó Cornelia Dobner de Creative Design en Alemania. Su pieza, ornamentos de navidad bordados, ganó esta categoría. "La idea del bordado fue inspirada por Encaje Plauener. Como digitalizadora, siempre estoy fascinada por el encaje liberado y me encanta está técnica de bordado," de acuerdo a la Sra Dobner, quien hizo el bordado. Le 10ème grand concours Eurostitch de broderie 2003 et 2004 Le jugement du concours s'est en fin de compte déroulé sur l'exposition Textilveredlung & Promotion qui s'est tenue du 1er au 3 février à Stuttgart en Allemagne. Pour leur jugement, un jury de professionnels avait été invité, jury composé de Monsieur Harrie Smeets, directeur des finances de Prostitch en Hollande, Monsieur Massimo Baezzato, propriétaire de Constitch Stickdesigns en Allemagne et Madame Gabriela Wiesmann de GiS Tech Solution en Allemagne. Concours de broderie Cette année, il y avait trois catégories de concours : A- Les vêtements finis : broderie sur un vêtement fini comme une robe, une chemise, un sweater, une casquette, etc. B- Décoration murale : Broderies destinées à être appliquées sur un mur (ces broderies devaient être encadrées). C- Fils spéciaux : Broderie sur n'importe quel support, réalisée avec des fils spéciaux (métalliques, fluorescents, laineux..). Toutes les pièces ont été encore une fois jugées selon 4 critères. Le premier est la créativité et l'originalité ; les pièces étaient jugées selon l'usage des matières ou des techniques de broderie selon leur créativité et leur originalité. Le second, l'usage efficace des couleurs ; le bon usage des couleurs pour améliorer l'effet de la broderie. Le troisième critère était la netteté de la broderie ; la qualité obtenue par le piquage et la broderie ainsi que la présentation de la broderie. Le quatrième critère était le savoir-faire ; la bonne application des techniques et la continuité générale du piquage. Les juges ont eu à prendre des décisions difficiles à cause du haut niveau de qualité des pièces à juger et l'art contenu dans les broderies présentées. Le Grand Prix pour la meilleure broderie toutes catégories choisie par les juges professionnels a été gagné par Monsieur Ergan Yaran de Nakissan Ltd., S.T.I. en Turquie. L'idée pour la broderie, une image de Mevlana, un philosophe mystique de l'Islam, était de représenter sa doctrine religieuse de tolérance, de raisonnement positif, de bonté, de charité et de conscience par l'amour. Pour la broderie, on a utilisé 1523 mètres de fils Durak, Epiriler et Gunold Visco 30 et 40 en 25 couleurs différentes avec des effets pour la cohérence. Pour dépeindre l'expression de tristesse, on a utilisé une étoffe de daim noire en fond pour souligner les différentes couleurs utilisées sur le visage ainsi que la vue détachée sur T-shirt. Ce qui est particulier sur cette broderie, ce sont les parties, couleurs et effets différents utilisés. La conception et le piquage, qui ont pris trente neuf heures, ont été réalisés ave le logiciel de broderie Punto 5.05, l'œuvre complète comprenant 197 824 points. On a utilisé 70 aiguilles pour la broderie. Nakissan Ltd. en Turquie va recevoir la coupe gravée à son nom du Grand Eurostitch Embroidery Challenge, et la gardera pendant un an. L'entreprise va aussi recevoir le Grand Prix offert par Wings Systems Ltd. et Embrosol. Le cadre montre des fleurs de lis brodées avec leu pistils sur lesquels semble s'être posé un papillon. La partie brodée s'appuie sur le miroir présentant des pétales qui s'en échappent à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur. Sur les ailes du papillon, on a appliqué quelques images de cristal de Swarovski. Tous les procédés utilisés, de la découpe du travail aux applications des parties en relief et aux touches de finition ont été faites à la main. L'objet peut être accroché au mur. La totalité de la broderie a été parfaitement programmée et brodée. La programmation a été faite avec le logiciel GMI Stilista 2000 avec toutes ses options. Le piquage a pris environ 5 heures et la totalité de l'ouvrage comprend 136 409 points. La broderie a pris 6 heures à être réalisée avec une machine ZSK JCC. Les fils suivants ont été utilisés : 8 couleurs différentes de fil

métallique, 2 couleurs de fil polyester et 20 cristaux Swarovski. La totalité du travail de dessin, de découpe et de mise sous cadre a duré 26 heures. AMG a reçu le prix de la créativité offert par Pulse Microsystems. Il s'agit du niveau Designer de Tajima DG/ML avec un progiciel Pulse comprenant l'édition, la programmation et les lettres. Les vêtements finis Le Premier Prix de cette catégorie, un logiciel Milennium 3 d'édition et de lettres avec l'option millennium@embroidery permettant la production simple de motifs sur Internet offert par Proel a été gagné par Madame Regina Wendt de Applikationen Estickung Computer Design. Sa présentation est une veste de cuir noir avec une image brodée montrant un guerrier peau rouge avec son cheval au dos de la veste. La pièce a été réalisée pour le mari de Madame Wendt qui voulait quelque chose d'unique et de spécial sur sa veste. La conception a été réalisée avec le logiciel Compucon EOS. Le piquage a pris 48 heures et l'ouvrage comprend en tout 124 000 points. La broderie a pris quatre heures à être réalisée avec une machine une tête de Happy. Elle a nécessité 18 couleurs de fils Madeira des deux types Polyneon et Madeira Classic Ombre. La cape de l'Indien est une application et la décoration sur les plumes est en 3D Stick et mousse Puffy de Gunold. Une aiguille 70 de Gunold a été utilisée. Le Deuxième Prix, un assortiment Polyneon no. 40 composé de 359 couleurs de fil polyester comprenant 10 couleurs Astro avec le logiciel Colour Definition de Madeira, offert par Madeira, a été gagné par Madame Birgit Stadler. Sa broderie, un cavalier sur une veste marron, a gagné dans cette catégorie. La broderie a été faite avec différentes couleurs de fils fluo dans un motif en courbes. Le travail a été parfaitement programmé et digitalisé. Le Troisième Prix, une machine à coudre offerte par Aisin Europe, a été gagné par Monsieur Shoji Ishiida de EmyuRakusai Co. Ltd. au Japon. L'idée du pull-over brodé de dentelle est venue des tendances de la mode japonaise qui va vers des goûts féminins et transparents selon Monsieur Ishiida qui a réalisé la broderie avec Madame Mayumi Nomura et Monsieur Sadao Saito. La broderie réalisée au milieu du pull-over a été faite avec une machine 4 têtes Tajima TMEF. Pour la broderie, on a utilisé du fil Angel King pour sa qualité. La conception, qui a pris deux jours, a été faite avec un Compucon Hyperstitch. L'ouvrage comprend environ 62 000 points. On a utilisé des aiguilles Organ no. 10. Le Quatrième Prix, un paquet de Dakota comprenant 30 motifs sélectionnés pour le type de machine préféré du gagnant offert par de Gast Ontwerpstudio, a été gagné par Madame Linda Verstappen de Thermopatch en Hollande. Le Second Prix de cette catégorie a été gagné par Monsieur Alexander Kanchev de Bulgarie, qui a gagné un assortiment de fil Isacord de 315 couleurs de fils polyester offert par Ackermann. Sa décoration murale représente la Vierge Marie avec l'enfant Jésus. L'idée de l'ouvrage a été tirée des belles icônes de l'artiste bulgare Ilija Rachov. " Nous les avons vues sur Internet " explique Monsieur Kanchev qui a réalisé la broderie avec sa femme Bistra Kanchev. La broderie a été faite sur une machine ZSK 6 têtes et 11 aiguilles. Pour la broderie, plusieurs couleurs de fil viscose Sulky de Gunold et de Sierra ont été utilisées. La conception a été faite avec le logiciel WinDaisy. Le piquage a pris environ deux semaines et la totalité de l'ouvrage comprend 119 000 points. On a utilisé des aiguilles 135 x 5 Num et 70/10 SES. La broderie de l'ouvrage a duré environ quatre heures. Le Troisième Prix, un chèque d'une valeur de € 400 offert par Gunold GmbH, a été gagné par Monsieur Beverley Field de Artistic Embroidery Digitizing au Canada. La broderie, la création d'Adam par Michel Ange a gagné dans cette catégorie. La conception a été faite avec le logiciel Wilcom et la broderie comprend 226 760 points. On a utilisé une machine une tête Tajima TMEX C 1201-C à douze couleurs. Monsieur Field a réalisé la broderie et la conception ce qui lui a pris 47 heures. Après on a enlevé l'intissé et on a à nouveau repassé, puis on a imprimé manuellement des sachets de thés brodés ou non, et on a appliqué toutes les partie sur une surface selon une technique créée pour l'occasion. Le travail a pris plusieurs semaines pour être réalisé. Les fils spéciaux Le Premier Prix, un EDS DesignShop Pro+, comprenant les alphabets complets, l'édition et la programmation plus le Digitizing Assistant, offert par Melco, a été gagné par Monsieur Antonello Ascione, qui a reçu le prix de la créativité, et qui a aussi gagné la première place dans cette catégorie des fils spéciaux. Le Deuxième Prix, un assortiment de fils Sylko composé de 400 couleurs de fils polyester Sylko offert par Coats, a été gagné par Alexander Kanchev de Bulgarie. Sa pièce, une boite décorée d'application pour garder des objets de valeur a été réalisée en coopération avec sa femme qui a acheté la boite. La broderie a été faite avec une machine Komteket. Pour la broderie, on a utilisé un fil Metallic Mety, un fluorescent Fluor et trois fils solaires de Gunold. Ces fils ont été

utilisés à cause de leur attrait et pour la conception inhabituelle. La conception a été faite avec le logiciel WinDaisy et l'ouvrage comprend 97 000 points. On a utilisé des aiguilles 135 x 5 et 70/10 SES. L'ouvrage complet, y compris les tests, la conception et la broderie a pris une semaine pour être réalisé. Le troisième Prix, un chèque d'une valeur de 100 £ offert par David Sharp, a été gagné par Madame Cornelia Dobner de Creative Design en Allemagne. Sa pièce, des décorations de Noël, a été récompensée. " L'idée a été inspirée par la dentelle de Plauen. En tant que piqueuse, je suis toujours fascinée par la dentelle par déchimicage et je suis toujours fascinée par cette technique " explique Madame Dobner qui a réalisé la broderie. L'ouvrage, conçu et piqué sur un logiciel Wings, comprend 56 000 points. La broderie a été faite sur une machine Fortron à deux têtes. L'ouvrage a pris 3 jours à être réalisé de la conception du motif, sa programmation à sa broderie. Le Quatrième Prix, un kit de broderie composé de produits adaptés : fils à broder, supports, sprays, Avalon, etc. offert par Aisin Europe, a été gagné par Beverley Field de Artistic Embroidery Digitising au Canada. Sa pièce, une robe du soir noire en tulle a été décorée avec une technique de broderie spéciale pour les cordonnets et les bandes. La décoration brodée a été faite très précisément sur le haut de la robe.
