CiS - „Competence in Silicon“
The CiS Research Institute for Micro Sensor Systems and Photovoltaics as a provider of F&E services stands for “competence in silicon”. CiS combines established silicon processes with advanced technologies in microsystems engineering, photovoltaics, optics and nanotechnology. Around 100 engineers and scientists support private companies in developing new technologies and products. Within the innovation chain the CiS is the link between science and industry.
Research & production from one source In the Microsystems engineering area, CiS scientists and engineers develop mechanical and optoelectronic solutions for medical engineering, measurement and communication technologies. As a result, CiS has gained technology leadership in manufacturing of pressure sensors, radiation detectors and photo diodes. These competences also establish the top position of the CiS Research Institute in solar R&D activities.
