Tour
MS EUROPA – The World’s Most Beautiful Yacht The EUROPA, the flagship of Hapag-Lloyd Cruises, sets international standards – for the tenth consecutive time, she has been the only cruise ship in the world to receive the distinction 5-stars-plus awarded by the Berlitz Cruise Guide 2010. The EUROPA offers each guest more space than the vast majority of other cruise ships, as well as copious privacy to relax and feel good. Exclusiveness and the fulfilment of individual wishes and ideas are our top priority at all times. Every cruise aboard the EUROPA is a unique and unforgettable experience among a small, cosmopolitan group of guests. On the EUROPA, our captains and their crew successfully create a very distinctive team spirit on board – and thus a personal, unobtrusive service that is rarely to be found on cruise ships or in the luxury hotel industry. Accordingly, our guests can enjoy the relaxed, attentive atmosphere on the EUROPA to the full. Welcome aboard The World’s Most Beautiful Yacht!

MS EUROPA – The World’s Most Beautiful Yacht Your Guide Across the Ship: Europa Deck
MS EUROPA
Europa Lounge
The Europa Lounge is the “concert hall” of the EUROPA. It offers sufficient space to accommodate all the guests, allowing them to experience evening entertainment on the stage with a multifaceted cultural and entertainment programme featuring first-class international artists. With our Stella Maris International Vocal Competition, we have been committed to promoting upand-coming talents in cooperation with renowned opera houses since 2009. In collaboration with the Honens International Piano Competition, we invite virtuoso instrumentalists to perform in front of our guests. The traditional welcome and farewell evenings with the captain also take place here. The Europa Lounge is a non-smoking lounge.
Atrium
The heart of the EUROPA with two glass lifts and views as far as the sky.
Tour Office
Our experienced tour guides gladly provide the guests with advice on board and will also assist in the planning of special shore activities and individual arrangements. Organised shore excursions are carefully planned for every cruise. On the EUROPA, we offer various types of shore excursions: 1. Conventional excursions (e. g. bus tours and round trips) 2. Late-riser excursions for all those who do not like to get up early 3. Excursions by mini van or mini bus: more experiences and spontaneity 4. Individual excursions (e. g. by car and with your own, generally Englishspeaking driver) 5. Adventure excursions (e. g. by plane, helicopter or hot-air balloon) 6. Active tours (e. g. hiking tours, walks or bicycle tours) 7. Theme excursions (exceptional experiences, e. g. “1,001” Emirates Palace) 8. Extraordinary events (e. g. tsar evenings in St. Petersburg) 9. “Your own way”: If your clients have something else in mind, our concierge will be happy to help them organise it. Information on the excursion programme will be sent out to the guests approx. three months prior to the start of the cruise. We will offer shore excursions in English on an individual basis, whenever possible in the ports of call. Approximately three months prior to the start of the cruise your customers will receive information about one shore excursion in each port of call which will be conducted in English. Since the majority of passengers are Germanspeaking, there is usually a wider choice of shore excursions conducted in German. It is therefore important that you stipulate if your costumers wish to receive their documents in German or English when you book the cruise. It is possible to make prebookings for the excursions. The costs will be charged to the guest’s on-board account. During excursions with the 13 on-board Zodiacs, the guests will experience the flora and fauna at very close range. Depending on the destination, weatherproof parkas and rubber boots are made available for Zodiac landings. Zodiac landings and the associated excursions are included in the cruise price. In particular, this applies to voyages to remote regions. Whether the guests will be able to go ashore depends on the local conditions.
10
Bottled water is provided free of charge on the shore excursions. Bicycles (limited allotment), snorkelling equipment and umbrellas are available on board at no cost.
A concierge is in charge of any special requests on the part of our guests. He will, for instance, organise visits to the opera, make reservations for restaurants ashore, devise individual shore programmes or arrange for a limousine service.
Cruise Directors and Hotel Managers
The cruise directors Frank Meikofski and Alexander Thurein (photos to the right) manage the areas tourism and entertainment on board. They are responsible for the excursion programme ashore and the entertainment programme aboard. The hotel managers Josef Gruber and Johann Schrempf are in charge of the entire hotel business including restaurants with the service and logistics areas and also the OCEAN SPA.

Bellevue Deck The bridge is the brain of the EUROPA – it offers high technology in perfection and is the control centre and the command base of the captain and his officers. Due to its crucial importance as control centre for all nautical and technical operations, the bridge is an extremely sensitive area. For this reason, international regulations prohibit its being open to the public. Nautical interests and the local regulations of the respective coastal countries permitting, however, the guests have the opportunity to partake in a guided tour of the bridge in the course of the cruise.
