This month the school enjoyed chapel from the 4th grade class. The chapel service was full of a whole bunch of meaningful messages. Like how it is bad to have the poochy lip disease. We also learned about David, and King Ahab. Mrs. Dillon did a wonderful job with the King Ahab story about how we shouldn't cry about everything. The fourth graders led the school in the poochy lip song. And Pastor Dillon did a wonderful job on describing David’s life and his troubles in Psalms. And how he dealt with Saul. His stories helped to connect how our attitude can change our outlook on our circumstances. !

Physical Education looks different at each school. Coach Thompson, leads our students Physical Education classes for the K-8th grade students. One of Coach Thompson’s goal for P.E. is showing her students a wide range of activities that are just fun, and an active way to be healthy. She said that, ‘’KCA has many athletically inclined students that get their exercise on a regular basis from participating in sports.’’ She went on to say that “in today’s world, it is vital to find certain ways to be active in daily routines and to make healthy choices. By teaching activities such as; juggling, 4 square, or tag games, it gives the students more options than just ‘running’ to stay active.” The younger students have been working on skills that will prepare them for some sports. While the older students are “learning how to play various team related sports.” They are learning individual and dual sports, for example: volleyball, football, juggling, and badminton. All students have been learning about muscles, bones, and healthy heart habits this year.
! Coach Thompson says, “she grew up hunting, fishing, swimming, biking, and playing volleyball and soccer.” She enjoys being part of the fun activities. “As much as I love what I do, I love God more and I have a desire for those I’m surrounded with to come to know Him.” We are truly blessed to have Coach Thompson as part of our KCA family.

true, but we see a lady that sparkles. Mrs. Safire, came to KCA just over ten years ago after the suggestion from her cousin. Mrs Safire says, “I really wasn’t looking for a job, but once I came here, I was so impressed.”
Needless to say,
Mrs. Safire has been here ever since. She currently teaches 6th grade Bible, 6th-10th grade Language, and 7th-10th Literature. Mrs. Safire was inspired to become a teacher by two special

people, her mother and her high school English teacher. Mrs. Safire wanted to be just like her mother; even though her mother wasn’t a teacher, she was the best teacher figure in her daughters’ life. Mrs. Safire also modeled after the teacher she says was, “the most amazing person a teenager could have as a teacher.” Her teacher was, “smart, funny, and she made the kids in her class want to learn.” We like to think that Mrs. Safire is now that teacher for our KCA teenagers, encouraging them each day with her

laughter, compassion and tender heart. She may be quick to uphold respect and quality work, but she is also quick to give the complements that are remembered long after the day. She is the lady with eyes that sparkle… it could be mischief, or it could be just her dazzling personality.

This is Mrs. Campbell’s first year as a full time teacher at KCA. She was a substitute the last two years and got to know a lot of the students. Mrs. Campbell’s favorite thing about teaching 5th grade at KCA is that she is able, “to incorporate God’s Word and His principles into each and every subject.” She also loves, “challenging each student to achieve his/her very best both academically and spiritually.” When asked the characteristics she would use to describe her 5th grade class, she listed: “They are excited about learning; they love to participate; and they are independent thinkers; they have a great sense of humor; they get excited about new ideas; they are full of energy; they are compassionate and thoughtful towards others, they are great leaders; they are optimistic; and they are very helpful.” As far as character development, Mrs. Campbell hopes to instill in all her students, “a love for Christ, compassion for others, and an ability to excel in all academic subjects.” She also hopes to, “help each student develop a desire to know and obey God’s will.” The last question I asked her was, “What makes a KCA classroom different from public school classrooms?” She replied, “being able to teach the Bible as God's inspired Word and incorporate it into each subject during the day, and using it to teach valuable life lessons throughout the day. The teachers and staff here are exceptional, supportive and full of God’s love and grace. I love working with everyone here - students and staff.”

KCA Sports by Knight Writer… Zeke Barnett
! We are happy to say that the KCA track season is just around the corner! We are also glad to say that Mrs. Melanie Pezold is once again coaching. KCA will have two track teams this year, middle school 7-8th grade and the high school team. Track is the only sport at KCA that both boys and girls are a part of the same team. It is a great way to involve the true school spirit.
Some Track Term Distances: 400 - One lap around the track (one quarter of a mile). 1600 - 4 laps around the track (one mile).

Spring Break…. Fun by Knight Writer…. Hunter Middleton!
So spring break is coming this March 19, and it might be challenging to think of some things to do during spring break. So I came up with a list of things that you can do during spring break. Go have some fun. 1. Baseball Starting in March, America’s great pastime begins another season. Great weather. Smiling faces. Hot dogs. What could be more fun? Start to sign up for your league team, and get out there and practice with your family! 2. Backyard fun Traveling is not the only way to have a great time with the family on vacation. Turn your backyard into your very own resort destination. You can play all types of different sports such as ultimate frisbee or volleyball. Think outside the box and come up with your own unique backyard fun. 3. Volunteer Volunteer this Spring break is a perfect time to give of yourself. Spring is the time of new life and renewed hope. Your family can join in giving nature a hand. Clean up litter in your neighborhood. Pick up trash around ponds and creeks that harm wildlife. Help an elderly neighbor with yard work or house maintenance. Let your family choose the cause and then be the solution. 4. The outdoor project Yard work on vacation? Sure! It’s the perfect time to add beauty and function to your home. Take this time to add that long talked about gazebo or fountain. Maybe your wife wants a garden. Get the whole family involved with the vision and planning. Then get out there with your family and make it happen!
! 5. The big Rig How many times have you been on the road with your family and you all see that big motor home next to you and wish you were in it? Make it happen. RV dealers rent those big rigs for surprisingly reasonable fees. There are special resorts all over the country that cater to big motor homes. Research an itinerary that works for your family and get out on the road! Student Newsletter from Kingdom Christian Academy

Weird News on St. Patricks Day by Knight Writer…. McKenna Carnahan!
! Have you ever wondered what makes St. Patricks Day a holiday? Well I am here to tell you just that, and you might be very surprised with what you find out. I was! St. Patrick's Day originated in Ireland on March 17, 461. It was created to honor Ireland’s saint, Patrick. St. Patrick was actually not of Irish descent, he was from Great Britain. When he was a teenager, he was kidnapped and taken to Ireland as a slave. While in Ireland, he escaped from his captors and fled to France. There he sought refuge in a monastery, and found Christianity. Later in his life Patrick went back to Ireland as a missionary and became a bishop. Decades after his death, he became the patron saint of Ireland. The date of his death, March 17th became the holy day of obligations for all catholics in Ireland. When the Irish immigrated to America, they brought along their holiday and jazzed it up a bit. The weird story goes that the first American St. Patrick’s Day parade was held in New York City in the 1760’s while some Irish men were serving in the British army. Even though St. Patrick’s Day has never been recognized as an actual holiday in America, the celebrations are a way for the Irish to remember where they came from even after they moved to a new country. It’s weird to think about how different St. Patrick’s Day is celebrated today than it was hundreds of years ago, but even now the holiday still reminds the Irish of their Irish roots.

Student Movie Review by Knight Writer… Lauren Davis
! A movie I saw in theaters is, Night at the Museum Secret of the Tomb it is the third trilogy of the Night at the Museum. This movie is about a guy named Larry and he is a night guard who works at the National History Museum. He realizes that something weird is going on with his exhibit friends so he spans the globe and meets new characters while embarking on a quest to save the magic of the tablet before it is gone forever. What I liked about this movie is it had a lot of heart and it was really funny. I give this movie 3 popcorn cups. This movie may be appropriate for your younger viewers it is rated PG.

! A movie I saw on DVD is Captain America: The First Avenger. This movie is about a man named Steve Rodgers who got rejected from the military and transformed into a super soldier called Captain America. Being Captain America comes with a huge price as he attempts to take down evil. What I liked about this movie is it had a lot of action in it and some romance. The lesson in this movie is never give up on what you want to do in life. I give this movie 2 popcorn cups. It is rated PG 13.
