President’s Message What a great turn-out we had for the annual Safety Check! Thank you Dave and Sherry Haase for all the work you did in preparation; and your yard looked fabulous! Thank you Chris Rich, Ted Shimkowski, and Pete Rich for conducting the detailed inspections. Your work means so much to everyone because finding these little problems prevents bigger ones during the touring season. Thank you to our cooks, Jack Mulkey, and Ted Grosman. The tasty corned beef and cabbage gave us the fuel we needed to start our touring journey for the year. During this 25th anniversary year, we have a special overnighter planned with 18 rooms already booked. If you haven’t made your reservation, be sure to do so soon. To make your reservation, find the information about the Silver and Gold Anniversary Tour in the Pedal Pusher newsletter. Richard

Safety Check 2015 Dave and Sherry Haase opened their lovely country property to the Redwood Empire Model T Club to host our annual safety check and pot luck lunch. The Hasses have been so generous in their support of the club, offering their time and energy to this popular event. This year’s lunch was corn beef with all the trimmings and pot luck sides, salad and desserts brought by the members. Ted Grosman and Jack Mulkey were cooks for the day with the biggest pot of corn beef you have ever seen. Chris Rich and Ted Shimkowski did the hard work of checking for safety issues on 15 or more of the 25 Model T’s that arrived. We will have an update on the main safety problems they found. It was a long day for the mechanics who went back to finish after lunch. Pete Rich marked off the inspection chart from the MTFCA and each member received the list to inform them of things to check. This event is the kick off of our touring season and we look forward to seeing the Model T’s out in force and enjoying catching up with old and new members. Dave and Sherry always provide fun games and this year Dave even made big wooden dice with the Ford logo to play a game of chance. Several folks came close to guessing the height of the windmill. Gary Seavy won the prize. A little excitement was provided by Bob Smith’s Roadster deciding that it was going home all by itself. It started itself and rolled on the driveway. I don’t think Ted and Chris knew how fast they could move to stop a T that decided to leave on it’s own. Whew!!
