United States Figure Skating Association’s Basic Skills Program. Classes meet on Mondays for eight weeks. Skate rental and 8 practice times included. Session 1: January 3 - February 21 Session 2: February 28 - April 18 Session 3: April 25 - June 20 (no class May 30) Session 4: June 27 - August 22 (no class July 4) Session 5: August 29 - October 24 (no class September 5) Session 6: October 31 - December 19 FEE: $115 ($92 in-district) + $10 Annual USFSA Membership Fee

Hockey 1-4 (ages 4 - 10) The hockey curriculum is designed to teach the fundamentals of hockey skating. TIME: Mondays 6:00 - 6:30 pm Snowplow Sam (ages 4 - 5) Class teaches standing, proper way to fall & get up, marching forward, two-foot glide, dip, backward wiggles, rocking horse, forward one-foot glides, forward and backward swizzles & snowplow stop. TIME: Mondays 5:30 - 6:00 pm Basic 1 (ages 6 - 15) Classes teach safety, gliding and stopping. TIME: Mondays 5:30 - 6:00 pm Basic 2-6 (ages 6 - 15) Skaters learn edges, turns, forward and backward crossovers, and progress to three turns and elementary jumps and spins. TIME: Mondays 6:00 - 6:30 pm Basic 7 & 8

Birthday Parties and Inflatable Bounces

Ice Skating

Celebrate at the Upstate’s ONLY year-round public Ice Skating Rink! Parties include a private party room for two hours with a personal party host, balloons, pizza, drinks, cake and ice cream, ice skating and skate rentals. No outside food or beverage permitted. FEE: $16.00 per child (minimum of 10 guests) add the Bounce House for $4.00 per person or add 15 minute group ice skating lessons for $15.00 per party. A $50.00 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking.

George

the Train (Available April 1 - October 30) Plan an outdoor celebration under our picnic shelter at the Cannon Train Depot. Bring your own refreshments and treat your guests to a ride on George, our historic mini passenger train. The Pavilion playground is also there for everyone to enjoy. Shelter payment is due in full at time of reservation. FEE: Shelter Rental: $10.00 per hour Train Fare: $1.75 per passenger (minimum of 10 guests)

Your premier place for interactive inflatable entertainment! The Bounce House offers 7,000 sq. ft. of bouncing, jumping, climbing, sliding, and crawling. Socks required. Open seven days a week. For ages 12 and under. FEE: $7.00; parents are free. Group rates and party packages available.

Junior Tigers Learn

to

Play Hockey

An introductory hockey class for children ages 4 - 14. Previous skating experience is required. Each 60 minute session meets once a week for 8 weeks. TIME: Mondays 6:30-7:30 Session 1: January 3 - February 21 Session 2: February 28 - April 18 Session 3: April 25 - June 20 (no class May 30) Session 4: June 27 - August 22 (no class July 4) Session 5: August 29 - October 24 (no class September 5) Session 6: October 31 - December 19 FEE: $75.00 (In-District: $60.00) + $35 Annual USA Hockey Registration. Adult Hockey League

Leagues are RECREATIONAL for ages 18 and up. There are three leagues A/B, C and D. Leagues consist of 10 games plus single elimination playoffs. Two officials and a scorekeeper are provided. Periods are 17 minutes running clock. Full equipment is required. Leagues run year round. (Winter: January-April; Summer: May-August; Fall: September-December) A/B League (Advanced): For advanced players who have played competitive hockey at a fast-paced level. Game Slots: Sunday nights at 4:45 and 6:00 pm C League (Intermediate): For players that have previously played organized competitive hockey. Game Slots: Monday nights, 7:45, 9:00, and 10:15 pm; Thursdays at 9:00pm D League (Beginner): For recreational hockey players with some experience in team play. Game Slots: Sunday nights at 7:15, 8:30, and 9:45 pm; Thursdays at 10:15 pm FEE: $200.00 ($160.00 In-District)

Stick Time

Pick-Up Hockey

Stick time is open practice sessions for all ages and skill levels. Helmet required and full equipment mandatory for players under 18. Pick-Up is for skaters over 18. Full equipment is mandatory. Tennis Pavilion Tennis Academy

Fun and exciting ways to learn the game of tennis! For ages 8-18. Instruction in serves, ground strokes, volleys, and game strategy. Beginners and Intermediates TIME: Tuesdays & Thursdays 4:15 - 6:15 pm, TIME: Saturdays 10:00 am - 12:00 pm; Advanced TIME: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays 4:15 - 6:15 pm FEE: 1 class per week: $60.00; 2 classes per week: $105.00 3 classes per week: $150.00 per month

Junior Tennis Program

Rising Stars Introduction to tennis, ages 4 - 7. Learn basic tennis skills and play on-court games emphasizing individual & team participation in a fun environment. TIME: Thursdays 3:15 - 4:15 pm and Saturdays 9:00 - 10:00 am FEE: $50.00 per month Round Robin Tournament A great introduction to competition in an informal environment while building confidence and game strategy. The fee includes pizza, drinks, and a raffle for tennis prizes. TIME: Third Saturday of each month 2:00 - 4:00 pm FEE: $17.00 per entry Home Schoolers Clinic Current class is beginner level. TIME: Thursdays 11:30 am - 1:00 pm FEE: $60.00 divided by the number of students per class USTA Junior Team Tennis Teams play in Spring and Fall.

Train

Children and adults will enjoy riding our historic mini train on a one mile trip around the Pavilion campus. The train depot is open from April 1 - October 30. TIME: Tuesdays and Fridays: 10:00 am - 3:00 pm Saturdays: 10:00 am - 5:00 pm Sundays: 1:00 - 5:00 pm FEE: $2.00 per rider or $1.75 per rider for groups of 15 or more

George’s Club

For preschoolers and their parents or grandparents. Ride the train, enjoy story time, crafts, snacks, prizes, and more. During the winter months enjoy the Bounce House in place of the train ride. TIME: Third Tuesday of each month from 10:00 - 11:30 am. FEE: One time $20.00 membership fee and a monthly fee of $5.00

After School Program

Supervised program offers afterschool care, homework tutoring, athletics, games, skating, and snacks. Pickup available from Buena Vista, Brook Glenn, Woodland, Pelham Road, Mitchell Road and Brushy Creek elementary schools, and Northwood and Riverside middle schools.

Summer Day Camps

For children ages 6-11 offers a summer full of fun including skating, swimming, trips to Greenville Rec waterparks, games, athletics, nature study, arts, and more. Camp Kaleidoscope TIME: Camps are offered in one week sessions from June 13 - August 5, 2011. FEE: $77.00 for one week session plus $30.00 registration fee The Wanderers TIME: Offers age specific activities for youth ages 12-14 from June 13 - August 5, 2011. FEE: $85.00 per week plus $30.00 registration fee

Other Sports Volleyball

A coed 10 week fall league. Played on Monday nights, with start times at either 6:30, 7:30, or 8:30 pm. League begins on September 12. Matches consist of best of 3 games: 25-25-15. Officials provided. The league is run by Club South Volleyball. For more information contact Jimmy Peden at [email protected] or 864-576-3700. FEE: $295.00 per team OR individual registration is $45.00. If you are playing as an individual, there is an open gym night to determine your level and assign you to a team.

Lacrosse

Games consist of four 12-minute quarters. Certified officials and scorekeepers will be provided as well as team jerseys. Full equipment is required. For ages 15 thru adult. Summer Indoor League TIME: Tuesday Nights at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 pm beginning June 7. GAMES: 8 regular season games plus playoffs FEE: $100.00 ($80.00 In-District) Fall Outdoor League TIME: Wednesday nights at 6:30, 7:30 and 8:30 pm beginning September 14. GAMES: 10 regular season games plus playoffs FEE: $125.00 ($100.00 In-District)

Table Tennis

The Greenville Table Tennis Club meets at the Pavilion every Wednesday evening from 7:00 - 10:00 pm. The club consists of many international players from countries including China, India, Russia, Poland, Germany, France, Haiti and Columbia, South America. Skill levels range from novice to expert. New members and guests are always welcome. For information regarding the Greenville Table Tennis Club please contact: David Blair, club member, at 864-650-2554 or by email at [email protected]. FEE: $3.00 per session. Players must sign in and pay at the Pavilion’s front desk.

Badminton

The Greenville Badminton Club meets at the Pavilion every Monday and Thursday evening from 7:30 - 9:30 pm, September through April. Special Events at the Pavilion in 2011 Leprechaun O’Gala

March 17, 10:00am - 2:00 pm St. Patty’s Day celebration at the Pavilion. This is an event for youngsters ages 2-6. Call 864-288-6470 in February for reservations. FEE: $6.00

Train Season Opening

April 5, 10:00 am – 12:00 noon Help us wake George up from his winter nap. We will have snacks, balloon animals, a visit in the Bounce House, and of course a ride on George the Train. Kids ages 2-6 will not want to miss this annual event. FEE: $1.00

Enchanted Tracks

October 27 - 28, 6:00 - 9:00 pm October 29, 5:00pm - 9:00pm Come see the Enchanted Forest, ride George the Train, and visit the village. There will be candy, face painting, food, a costume contest, and inflatable bounces. Advanced ticket sales available at Greenville Rec’s administrative office starting October 17. FEE: $6.00

Christmas

on

Ice

December 9 -10, 6:00 nightly Students from the Pavilion Ice Skating School will skate to all of your favorite Christmas music at this annual event. Bring a blanket to keep warm, grab a cup of hot chocolate at our concession, and be prepared to get into the holiday spirit. This is the 20th year for this traditional Christmas program. FEE: Free Admission

George’s Holiday Party

December 13, 10:30 am Ride George the Train with Santa. Enjoy the Bounce House, cookies, music, and games. This is a great morning out for children ages 2-6. In case of inclement weather, there will be sleigh rides on the ice rink. FEE: $5.00

Indoor Soccer 2012

The Greenville County Recreation District will be offering a 6v6 Co-Ed/Men’s Adult Indoor Soccer League next winter at the Pavilion. All games will be played at the Pavilion inside the In-Line Hockey Rink. FEE: $500.00 / Team If you live in Greenville County outside of the municipalities of Greenville, Mauldin, Greer, or Simpsonville, you are a resident of the District and receive a 20% discount on most fees.
